Three dads just trying to get through it
The Hella Dad Life Podcast is about three Asian-American dads trying to figure out fatherhood in real time. We share stories from the trenches, talk about breaking generational cycles, and occasionally shoot the shit about movies and TV shows—all over a beer.
We started this podcast to share what we're going through as parents, to hopefully give other a parents a look into what other parents are doing. We talk it out with each other as friends to know we're not alone, and the hope is that, by sharing our stories, you'll also know that you're not the only one going through it.
It's not about giving advice or telling people what to do. It's just real talk. Hella authentic.
The dads
Vern
Vern is a proud, two-time girl dad. He plays a ton of video games and boulders at his local climbing gym. He likes any type of beer, but seasonality, vibe, and reason for gatheringhighly influences his beer pick.
ERIC
Eric is a Bay Area native with two kids, who also spends enough time in Hawaii to legally qualify as a local. He originated the Hella Dad Life brand, and develops the merch and visuals for both the podcast and the brand. Eric is big into Hazy IPAs,
RYAN
Ryan is from the other side of California, bringing that SoCal perspective to the pod. He has two kids, and can regularly be found at our local gym getting jacked or practicing kickboxing. Ryan prefers lagers but will drink the odd IPA or two.
